Trusty Friend

Trusty Friend - 6 x 8 Oil on Canvas Panel
Sold

This is another painting of Weezer from Haverhill Farms, who was the model for the last horse painting I did.  He has been well-used for horseback riding lessons because he is such a gentle creature, and because everyone loves him.   I think by painting landscapes in my studio, I am sort of working my way up to actually painting outside.........  maybe.

  1. I am always impressed by artists who can paint a horse as well as this. You are very good and I love the way you capture the sunshine too.

    1. Thank you so much Julie. Yes, horses are a bit of a challenge—one little thing off and the whole thing looks wrong, kind of like painting the human figure. I definitely took more time than usual on this one, but I love anything to do with animals and farms so it is worth it.
