Colt

Colt - 6 x 6 oil on canvas board
Sold

This is Nacho. He was a resident of Horses Haven, a horse-rescue farm that I volunteered at for about four years.  Everyone who saw him immediately fell in love with the little guy.  I think he got a little more attention than the other residents :)  But they all got lots of love from all the wonderful volunteers.  Nacho was adopted and is at his forever home now.

Coffee, Black

Coffee, Black - 6 x 6 oil on canvas
Sold

This was a great exercise in drawing ellipses, painting white on white and getting the values right, mixing grays (with red, blue, yellow and white, not just black and white), and... not drinking the coffee before the painting was done...

Three's a Crowd

Three's a Crowd - 6 x 6 oil on canvas board
Sold

In Carol's workshop I learned A LOT about color, value, composition and more... and still learning :)  This is the first painting done after the workshop that I deem worthy to post (there are a lot of 'practice' pieces in my studio).  Hope you like it too!

Apple & Blueberries

Apple & Blueberries - 6 x 6 oil on illustration board
Sold

Hi all, I'm finally starting my daily painting blog :)  Since attending the Carol Marine workshop in Chicago in December, which was highly inspiring, I've been practicing what I learned and building up a small cache of paintings.  This first painting was actually done back in 2010 when I discovered the whole idea of daily painting.  I am posting this one so you will be able to see where I am coming from, and hopefully a progressive improvement.  I have found that since the workshop, though I haven't been able to paint every day, I've painted nearly every day, and much, much more than I have in the past.
